myers added their review for Terminator 2: Judgment Day: Masterpieces throughout history have changed people's lives - The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Citizen Kane - it comes as no surprise to me that a rather superficial movie like Terminator 2 should be that important to me on a personal level. The idea of 'fate' and 'destiny' the first two movies explored has always helped me struggle along my childhood, acting as a crutch. I know I had my share of seeing a harrowing future, perhaps one that's just as personal as nuclear holocaust. It helped that the film gave me an innocent ideal - regardless of its naivety - of being able to change my fate and my life by my own cause. "There is no fate but what we make for ourselves" remained as one of my favorite movie quotes of all time. I thank James Cameron for all of that, despite his shortcomings in filmmaking recently.
