Bitter Harvest
The Ukrainian Cossack Ivan Kachanuik and his son Yaroslav defend their little farm and family in a rural Central Ukraine village called Smila during the Bolshevik invasions of 1918 to 21.As the Bolsheviks take control invading Ukraine under Lenin as millions of Ukrainians died from forced famine and war yet Ukrainian peasants and farmers and Cossacks kept on rebelling until Lenin decided to compromise the countries massive uprisings and rebellions by promoting a peaceful more liberated European style Ukraine , and most thought some kinds of freedoms were in sight but in reality it was only propaganda as skeptical socialist and forced communist dreamers were on the rise with hopes of change freedom and success but also thousands exposed their own nationalism and oppositions therefore becoming targets to be arrested.
