The winners of the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards were announced Sunday during a virtual ceremony, with Watchmen leading with the most wins of the night (11).

Klaus has one jolly good night at the 2020 Annie Awards, which honored Netflix's first original animated feature with a whopping seven wins on animation's big night. Most surprising among them is a major upset over Frozen 2, Toy Story 4, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and Missing Link in the "Best Feature" category. The Atlanta Film Critics Circle (of which I am a member) has announced its winners for 2019, and the top prize went to Bong Joon-ho’s scathing satire Parasite. AFCC co-founder and Atlanta Journal-Constitution critic Felicia Feaster, calls Parasite “a lacerating take on the incredibly topical 21st century issue of income inequality that bubbles up a very nasty vein of dark comedy.” The film also won Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best International Film. Last night the VES Awards were handed out, and the big winners of the night were Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Lost in Space. Infinity War took home the night’s top prize of “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature” along with wins for “Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature” (Titan), “Outstanding Animated Character in a Photoreal Feature” (Thanos), and “Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Feature” (Titan again).
