 Beginner | I found the performances rather strong. The drag queen scene had fantastic acting from the queens. Bradley Cooper did well at portraying a man with substance abuse issues. Lastly, Lady Gaga was about to play a character who is also a singer, but less motivated and confident. However, if you are looking for something with a gripping plot then you are in the wrong place. The film does not manage to have enough depth to Bradley’s character. He struggles with substance abuse, but the whole time he stays the same. This makes each conflict dull because we know the outcome, but also obstalcles need to be overcome in a story to make it interesting.
