Sleepy Hollow came out of nowhere to crack out 4 seasons of seriously good demonic adventure. Most people at the time were only familiar with the most recent adaptation by Tim Burton starring Johnny Depp, so taking that iconic story and transplanting the key elements into modern-day allowed for some hellish fun. Tom Mison helmed the new series as the displaced Ichabod Crane alongside Nicole Behari as Lieutenant Abbie Mills in a sort-of Mulder and Scully fashion that clicked instantly.

True to form, the season four finale of SyFy's The Magicians was a subversive sucker punch to the heart. The Magicians is a show that's always keen to subvert expectations and this season the writers continued to dissect and upset the natural order of fantasy storytelling. While wrapping up a number of storylines and leaving us with some unanswered questions, the season four finale gave us a stunning and emotionally charged conclusion along with possibly one of the biggest twists in genre television history.

Shazam! continues the streak of films that appear to be moving the DCEU in the right direction. Following in the footsteps of Wonder Woman and Aquaman, Shazam! tells a brighter, more fun superhero story, while keeping the tale firmly rooted in something resembling reality. Shazam! tells the story of Billy Batson, an orphan who is given powers beyond his wildest dreams. With the help of his foster brother, Freddy Freeman, Billy learns how to use his powers and be a real hero. The film relies less on traditional, grandiose battles between good and evil, and more on the relationship between the hero and his family. In this way, Shazam! really changes things up and it is all the better for it.

The Walking Dead roared back into form with Season 9, which was a remarkable step up from the lackluster storylines from Season 7 and Season 8. Season 9 generally avoided playing around with the fans and presented resolutions to plots within the same season.

The X-Men are coming sooner than later to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so Marvel Studios will have some decisions to make. The original Fox Franchise has had its ups and downs over the years. Undeniable. However, when those films worked, they really worked. The Fox X-Men films brought audiences superheroes in a time where no one knew they wanted to watch superhero films. They made questionable decisions, yes. They also made brilliant ones.

After a long-anticipated debut, Captain Marvel finally made her entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the 21st installment of the superhero franchise. The film is packed with a familiar blend of action, humor, and comic book nerdom that fans have come to expect out of the series, all while offering up a hero that is unlike any we’ve ever seen before.

2Pokémon Sword and Shield will be the eighth generation game in the mainline Pokémon franchise. The series has been running since the mid-90s, and, naturally, every game in the series has warranted its fair share of hype. Fans are excited to explore the Galar Region — a region inspired by Great Britain — and harness one of three new starters to embark on a fabulous adventure.

Dune has quickly become one of the most anticipated upcoming movies. With plenty of talent and a beloved source material already behind it, there were plenty of fans looking forward to this big screen adaptation. However, with big names being announced to the cast seeming every day, excitement for the film has skyrocketed.

Alexander Siddig (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Game Of Thrones) played Ra's Al Ghul on season's three and four of Gotham, making him the first actor of Arabic origin to play the character. His version was the third live-action incarnation to hit screens in the last two decades, after Liam Neeson played him in The Dark Knight Trilogy and Matt Nable played him in Arrow.
