The Duffer Brothers launch Upside Pictures a new production company that will work with Netflix to create more Stranger Things and a new live-action Death Note.

The Addams Family are headed back to television. And this time, the similarly macabre Tim Burton is at the helm. According to Deadline, MGM which “controls the underlying rights to the IP” (sexy!) is putting together a package for a new live-action TV series, which Burton would executive produce and potentially direct all of the episodes. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are also on board the project as head writers and showrunners and would executive produce alongside Burton. The Resident Evil franchise will live on, now as a TV show. Netflix announced today that it will be making a new live-action Resident Evil TV series based on the survival horror video game franchise. Andrew Dabb, who served as co-showrunner on The CW series Supernatural starting in its 12th season, is serving as showrunner, executive producer, and writer for the new series, which will play out in two different timelines. Disney fans have been treated to many remakes of their favorite classic animated feature film over the last few years, from Cinderella to Aladdin.
