In the Star Wars Universe, two sides of the mystical energy field known as The Force exist to bind the galaxy together; the Light Side and the Dark Side. Followers of the Light Side, that use it to do deeds of compassion and selflessness are called the Jedi. Those that follow the Dark Side and use The Force only to enhance their own power are called the Sith. Their tumultuous struggles, fueled by the Jedi’s quest to bring Balance to the Force and the Sith’s desire to create change from chaos, have largely been what have shaped the Star Wars Saga.
