Manana (Ia Shughliashvili) is a 50 year old woman, who decides to leave her own family, husband, children and parents. Her decision is unknown during full storyline. Her act to abandon the family is act that is shameful for its society. Manana’s decision to buck the religious expectations of women in her community gives “My Happy Family” an enlightening feminist streak, which owes much to its central performance.
She lives in outskirts, in a small flat, but Rezo, her brother, tries to interfere and "defend" his sister from strange men. Manana meets her old classmate in fair by the accident, with whom she hears about class meeting after 35 years of graduating. Unfortunately for her, a huge secret will be revealed in that party - Soso has illegal child from other woman. Manana decides to see that boy pretending as gas controller.
