The Superdeep

Set in 1984, Anna Fedorova, a Russian epidemiologist, tries to resign after her research associate Dr. Zotoff volunteered to test a vaccine on himself without preliminary or animal testing which resulted in his death. Colonel Morozov of Military Intelligence who is overseeing the project, persuades her to continue human trials without preliminary or animal testing in an effort to quickly provide the vaccine for Russian forces in Africa.
