Captain Marvel already boasts a lot of comic book readers as fans. Now, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who might not be familiar with the character are getting their introduction in the form of Carol Danvers. She’s not the first person to hold the title - far from it. She’s actually sixth in line in Marvel Comics. One of the characters to hold the title before her, and one we just got a movie version of as well, is Monica Rambeau.

Name a more iconic duo. We'll wait. Han Solo and Leia Organa are complete opposites, and always seem to be arguing about something or other. And that's exactly what makes them a perfect movie couple. They're real! They're filled with passion, and every moment they share on screen is filled with life, tension, and electricity. They might have had their ups and downs over the years, but in the end it all just makes their relationship that much stronger. Some of the most iconic lines of the entire Star Wars franchise were uttered by these two characters. Their best moments together are unforgettable. In many ways, Han Solo and Leia Organa ARE Star Wars.

Game of Thrones is a show with many rivalries. Arya against those whose names are on her list, some of who she's already eliminated. Cersei against everyone, since she doesn't like or trust anyone anymore. Daenerys against Cersei, since not only is Cersei on the throne that Daenerys wants, but she's Cersei. She isn't easy to like. Yet Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton's rivalry is definitely an interesting one. In another, very different world, they might have been friends. That may seem hard to believe yet it's true. The two of them were both raised as illegitimate children, so they must have both felt like outsiders when they were growing up. If Ramsay was a different kind of person, he and Jon would probably get along well.

While Naruto truly is the story of an Uzumaki orphan becoming the hero he always dreamed to be, there's a lot more going on. For example, there are conspiracies, love triangles, and even comedy. However, one of the most important other parts of Naruto is the lead character's relationship with Sasuke Uchiha. Young genin friends turned bitter rivals and enemies, Sasuke and Naruto have a complex relationship. They may be on opposite sides of several conflicts, but they also are loyal to one another, in their own way. Sasuke always believes in Naruto's abilities, and Naruto always assumes his friend will one day come back to him. These are just two examples, among many other things, of course.

It's not easy being Queen. In this past Sunday's Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) continued to find politics in the North tougher than expected. Dany had some interesting, unspoken moments in the episode, like when Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) both left the hall before their Queen had exited the room, when Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) greeted the queen, but then quickly addressed Sansa asking to fight for Winterfell, and of course during Sansa and Dany's interrupted clear-the-air chat. Game of Thrones is a show full of shocking plot twists and many, many revelations. Fans are bound to miss some of them. Including revelations to do with the relationship between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. Whether it's the fact that Jon liked Daenerys from the beginning, or that both of them are candidates for fulfilling the Azor Ahai prophecy, fans missed certain things about these iconic characters.

Following years of anticipation, Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in October of 2018 to wild fanfare, garnering praise for nearly every facet of its design. Of course, not everything about it was golden - some reviews justly criticized the less than stellar shooting mechanics - but it succeeded in sucking players into a fully fleshed out open world. Many would also say it told one of the best stories to ever grace the medium. One reason its plot was so effective was the large cast of beautifully written characters and the nuance with which their relationships developed.
