As with other irreverent teen comedies like Superbad and Juno, it wasn’t afraid to focus on celebrating the 'weird' kids in high school. What was special about Napoleon Dynamite was that it seemed totally organically born. It was like the film crew just set up cameras and filmed actual people living in rural Idaho, a celebration of eccentricity.
